D’Vario Thompson upsets 3rd seed at Junior Caribbean Squash Championships

Thompson continued his steady and determined play in Guyana capturing an impressive win over 3rd seed Romario Constance of OESCThis win puts D’Vario into the semi-finals tonight at 8:20pm against Kale Wilson of T&T.  Teammate Micah Franklin on D’Vario’s match “he played steady and countered off of Romario’s plays into the front corners.”

Madeleine Rose had a strong performance in her first match of the tournament.  Coach Mount on her play “she hit some tight serves and moved the ball around nicely.  She looks very comfortable and confident heading into the third round of play.” 

Dylan Pratt secured his second victory of the tournament with some great length working his opponent side to side.  The 3-0 score does not do justice to the long rallies and seesaw battle between the two youngsters.  Teammate Alex Marshall on Dylan’s play “he handled the pressure like a pro…..  Jonathan Walker of Jamaica had some impressive gets and pushed Dylan to the limit in the first game.  Dylan battled from behind in the third game to lock the 3-0 victory.”
