SR CASA- DAY 1:

Mixed results for Bermuda on Day one of the Individuals SR. CASA.

Spencer Moss laces up for Bermuda for the first time since the glory days of his junior career (1988- Guyana). Moss didn’t miss a beat having a solid day going 2-1. Moss lost to 5th seed and University of Western Ontario standout Bruce Burrowes. Bruce picked up the pace of play while mixing in some amazing nicks for a 3-0 victory. Moss continues his play Tuesday 9:00am.

Anthony Fellowes also went 2-1 in his debut for Bermuda. Fellowes lost out to Dean Watson of Cayman Islands in the main draw. Dean played some deft touch combined with some impressive length. Anthony continues his play Tuesday 9:00am.

Chris Stout goes 2-1 with wins over Warren Urguart of Cayman and Kevin Bailey of OECS. Stout played with the same determined style that he’s become known for at the Island Games and JR. CASA earlier this summer. Despite his 3-0 lost two second seed Chris Binnie, Stout played some aggressive length and made some exciting attacking shots during this match…much to the delight of the crowd. Binnie of Jamaica won the clinching match for Trinity College over Yale University earlier this March for the 2011 NCAA Teams Championships. Stout continues play Tuesday 9:00am.

Noah Browne started the day off with a five game thriller with Caribbean Legend Wayne Burrowes. Wayne Burrowes still a fiery and determined competitor fell short to a composed Noah Browne. Next Browne met the third seed and hometown favourite Cameron Stafford. Stafford’s training for the PSA tour has been paying off as he took down Browne 3-0. Browne continues play Tuesday at 6:00PM.

Micah Franklin looked comfortable in his 3-0 victory over Marvin Blair of Cayman Islands. Franklin then met up with 7th seed Joe Chapman of OECS. Frist two games saw Champan edging Franklin with consisent length and the occasional well-timed attacking drop from deep left court. Franklin came out firing in the third game picking up the tempo of the match with forcing length from the back and some solid play in the front court. Franklin’s comeback was a little to late as Chapman edged him in forth. Franklin continues his play on Tuesday at 6:00pm.
