The BSRA Junior Raffle raising funds for the junior team travelling to the Junior Caribbean Championships this summer culminates tomorrow night with an Exhibition Lightning Tournament featuring the top juniors… Nick Kyme & Patrick Foster.

It should be great fun to watch some come down and have a look from 6pm.

Team Bermuda were just edged out by Florida for the RoseBowl title last night…

The 10 person team lost by 6 matches to 4 with almost all of the matches being unbelievably close.

After narrowly beating Florida 2 last night Bermuda comprehensivly beat Bahams this morning by 7 matches to 3 and now play Forida 1 for the Rosebowl title.

Bermuda v Bahamas 7-3

Patrick Foster beat Van Rolle 11-3, 11-4, 11-8

Chase Toogood beat Paul Browne 11-3, 11-6, 13-11

Eugene Bothello beatAdrian Burrows 11-5, 11-4, 11-7

Carolyn Toogood lost to Pembroke Williams 9-11, 5-11, 4-11

Jennifer Rosee beat Michelle Thompson 11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 11-4

Joanne Bielby lost to Barbara Albury 1-11, 5-11, 8-11

Richard Brewer beat Howard Mason 6-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5, 12-10

Tony Prentice beat Pemroke Williams 11-7, 7-11, 11-9, 11-2

Bermuda sneak past Florida 2…

In the opening match of the Rosebowl Championships Bermuda defeated Florida 2 but it wasn’t easy…

The match finished in 5-5 tie but Tony Prentice’s 2 games in his 2-3 loss proved to be enought to squeeze a victory for Bermuda.

Colin Whitney won 3-0

Chase Toogood won 3-0

Eugene Bothello won 3-0

Carolyn Toogood lost 0-3

Jennifer Ross lost 0-3

Joanne Bielby lost 0-3

Richard Brewer won 3-0

Tony Prentice lost 2-3

Denise Kyme lost 2-3

Liz Martin won 3-0

Bermuda now face Bahamas tomorrow morning at 11am followed by Florida 1 at 4pm.

The team arrived yesterday with no travel problems. Weather is good, hotel is nice, club is massive!

After a practice session yesterday afternoon we attended the RoseBowl welcome party poolside at the LifeTme Athletic Club meeting up with the Bahamas team and all the Boca Raton players.

Matches begin at 6pm this evening; Bermuda v Boca Raton 2 & Bahamas v Boca Raton 1
