RUBiS Divisional Handicap 2007 Draws released

The draws for the 2007 RUBiS Divisional Handicap are now available. Play will start on Monday October 1st at 5pm.
All support for the tournament is most welcome. Please come down and support what should be a fantastic week of squash.
Denise & Robbie go out in Manchester

Denise Sommers and Robbie Maycock both went out of the British Open in Manchester, UK this weekend.
Denise lost out to Vaso Hambides of Cyprus 9-5, 10-8, 9-6 in the quarter finals whilst Robbie beat Richard Underhill before losing out to Andrew Widderson of England in the last 8, 9-6, 10-9, 9-1.

British Open bid begins…

Bermuda National Team Coach, Denise Sommers’ bid to become British Open Ladies Over 35 Champion will start this weekend.
On Saturday at 2.30pm(BDA Time) she will take on the winner of Vaso Hambides of Cyprus or Isabelle Tyrell from England for a place in the semi finals. If all goes according to the seedings Denise will meet Englishwoman Claire Walker and hopefully pull off an upset to make the final and take on the legendary former World number 1 Sarah Fitzgerald of Australia.
Good luck to Denise.
Also in Manchester for the Open is Bermuda’s Robbie Maycock competing in the under 19 event. Robbie plays Richard Underhill of England today at 4.20pm(BDA time) for a place in the last 16.

RUBIS Divisional Handicap entries close on Monday 24th September

Entries for the upcoming Rubis Divisional Handicap Tournament will close at 9.00am on Monday 24th September.
The tournament will feature 4 divisions and a junior event with each offering prizes of $200 travel voucher for 1st place and a $50 gas voucher for 2nd place.

Paint Job

The club is currently under going a bit of a face lift with the upstairs bar area and all four courts receiving a new lick of paint.
At some point this week you will probably see club member Chris Dawson precariously balanced on top of the scaffold attempting to reach the high corners of the BSRA courts. The bar area and courts 2 & 4 are complete, whilst courts 1 & 3 will be finished by the end of the week.

This Thursday September 13th is the BSRA Open night from 6 till late.
New members joining on this evening will be waived the $100 initiation fee so get all your friends and family to come down and take advantage of this tremendous offer.
